Stone Crofter's Cottages Looking Out to Sea, Museum of Island Life, Isle of Skye

Description

On the north end of the Trottenish Peninsula on Skye is the Museum of Island life, with real stone crofter's cottages and workshops from days of old. Some of the homes were already on site and a couple were brought in from nearby. They were carefully built of local stone and thatched with reeds held on by attached stones. Inside were all the items of home life and crafts, fishing, social life and farming.
